Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN)

Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN)

Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) is a transparent thermoplastic polymer made from the copolymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile. It typically contains 70–80% styrene and 20–30% acrylonitrile. SAN offers high mechanical strength, excellent chemical resistance, and thermal stability. It has a glossy appearance and is more resistant to heat and chemicals than polystyrene, making it suitable for food containers, cosmetic packaging, household appliances, and automotive components. Additionally, SAN is valued for its rigidity, clarity, and ease of processing through injection molding and extrusion.
