Molding high quality parts is dependent on many factors, including skillful part and mold design, an understanding of polymer material behavior, and an optimized process. In the first lesson of this section we will focus on different designs and sizes of nozzle tips and how they influence mold filling, process behavior, and stability.
This lesson covers the three most common nozzle tip designs, General purpose, reverse taper, and free flow, and the advantages and disadvantages of each, pressure and temperature behavior for the three designs during the filling and packing phases.
