Lesson 5: Fill Speed Profiles

Although molding machines are now equipped with the ability to adjust for multiple fill speed profiles, it is important to understand how and why changing these settings will influence molding. In this lesson we will focus on optimizing fill speed profiles for one of many injection molding challenges, gate blush.

This lesson covers different issues that arise during molding that can be controlled with fill speed profile adjustments, how different fill speed profiles affect temperature distribution, shear stresses, and injection pressure during filling, and if changes to gate sizes and styles impact temperature distribution and shear stress.
